There are so many fantastic concealed carry guns out there that would make perfect guns to use as your personal defense weapons it can be difficult to choose one. For that reason, we’ve built this list of the ones we’ve used and are convinced will be a great choice for the various situations in which you may need one.
All of the guns that we’ll mention on this page generally meet our criteria for being guns that you should be able to trust your life to. Some of the criteria we use to evaluate concealed carry guns are reliability, concealability, capacity, comfort, accuracy and overall feel of each gun.
1) Springfield Hellcat
The absolute best gun for those of you looking for the highest capacity gun, without having to find a bigger gun is the Springfield Hellcat. It is virtually the same size as the Smith and Wesson M&P Shield and Glock 43, but holds an extra 3 rounds when comparing to the Shield and an extra 4 rounds when comparing to the Glock 43.
The Springfield Hellcat came out in 2019 and has been reviewed already as much as almost any other pistol. It is comfortable, compact and it does a good job helping the shooter be accurate even with little experience behind the gun. The stock sights are easy to pick up quickly when shooting and the trigger is one of the best in the concealed carry market. If you’re looking for the highest capacity concealed carry gun that does a good job with everything else, look no further!
2) Sig Sauer P365
The P365 came out a few years ago and was the first of the new generation of these tiny guns with a large capacity. It really only ranks second on our list because one had to be first (Nathan like the Hellcat slightly more). But other than that, it’s every bit as good as the Hellcat–and seems to have more of a cult following than any other gun these days, besides Glock.
The common consensus is that the P365 has a slightly smaller grip so people that like smaller grips tend to gravitate toward it. If this sound like something appealing to you, then this might be just the right gun!
